Annville, PA --- Playing in the opening game of the Rinso Marquette Tournament hosted by Lebanon Valley College, the Brooklyn College Women's Basketball team fell to host Lebanon Valley by a score of 79-46 on Saturday night at LVC Gymnasium. With the loss, the Bulldogs fall to 0-2 on the season, while the Dutchmen improve to 3-0 on the year.
Tied a six points apiece early in the game, Lebanon Valley, currently ranked #20 according to d3hoops.com, used a 16-0 run and then a 14-0 run to take control of the game as the Dutchmen would head into the break leading 38-15. Lebanon Valley would continue their dominance over the Bulldogs in the second half as the Dutchmen would go on to cruise to the 79-46 victory.
Brooklyn had a pair of starters in double figures as senior Ariel Smith (Newburgh, NY/Wallkill) netted a game-high 19 points, to go with five rebounds and five steals, while junior Justine O'Callahan (Floral Park, NY/Floral Park) finished with 10 points and six rebounds.
Suzie Noyes was the only LVC player in double figures with 13 points.
Brooklyn returns to action tomorrow, Sunday, November 21st, as the Bulldogs will take on Penn State Altoona in the consolation game. Tip-off is scheduled for 1:00 pm. Penn State Altoona fell to Elmira College 71-63 in the second game of the day.
