Big Blue Women Knock Off #3 Wisconsin-Stevens Point

            The Millikin women's basketball team knocked off #3 ranked Wisconsin-Stevens Point on November 23 in Stevens Point, Wis.

            Millikin's Julia Robert hit a three point basket with four seconds left to play to give the Big Blue the victory.  Robert was Millikin's top scorer on the night with 21 points.  She also had seven rebounds, three assists and three steals.

            Millikin had the advantage for most of the first half and went into halftime up 35-33.  The Big Blue lead would grow to 12 with 14:29 left in the game.  The Pointers then rallied and had a 65-60 advantage with five minutes left to play.  Millikin slowly cut into the lead and pulled to within one at 71-70 with 37 seconds left on a basket by Elise Wildman.  After a missed shot by Wisconsin-Stevens Point, Wildman got the rebound for Millikin setting the stage for Robert's game winner.

            Wildman had 20 points for Millikin on the night along with a team high 10 rebounds.  Cecily Aldridge had 14 points and Crystal Zeiger had 10 points and eight rebounds.

            UW-Stevens Point got 20 points from Sam Barber along with 15 from Andrea Flease.    

            Millikin shot 50 percent from the field and 50 percent from three point range (8-16).  Millikin out rebounded the Pointers 34-38.  Millikin overcame 28 turnovers and force Stevens Point into 17 turnovers.

            UW-Stevens Point was ranked third in the WBCA poll released earlier in the day.

            Millikin is off until Nov. 30 when they host Wisconsin-Platteville at 7 p.m.
