November 19, 2010, Wenham, MA -- Senior Guard Mallorie Blakney (Fairfield, ME) scored 28 points today as the Terriers (0-2, 0-0 NAC) fell to Gordon College (1-1) 59-57 in overtime. Gordon's Clancey Adams hit a baseline jumper with 1.4 seconds left in overtime to send the Scots to the championship game of the Gordon College Tipoff Classic. Gordon will face Hood at 3 p.m. and the Terriers will face New England College in the 1 p.m. consolation game.

Senior Alexis Evans (Embden, ME) tied the game 57-57 with ten seconds remaining. After a Gordon timeout, Adams drove the baseline and sunk a ten footer for the game winning basket. The Terriers called a timeout to set one final drive to tie the game up, but were unable to get a shot through the net in the final 1.4 seconds.

The Terriers held a 47-38 lead with 4:29 left in the second half before the Scots went on a 10-0 run. The run gave the Scots a 48-47 lead till First-Year Morgan Hutchins (Dixfield, ME) sunk a free throw to tie. Neither team was able to score before the end of regulation.

Blakney got the Terriers out to a early overtime lead but Gordon's Lauren Kranyak answered with a bucket of her own. Blakney would score twice more in OT, but Kranyak answered again as she put her team up 55-54 with a layup with 1:06 to play. After a Terriers turnover, Gordon's Sara Schwanke put the Scots up by three with 27 seconds remaining. After Blakney was fouled and made her first free throw, Evans snatched the rebound of the missed second foul shot and drained a layup for the 57-57 tie.

Thomas received a huge performance from Blakney, and got a strong contribution from Ashley Matchett (Skowhegan, ME) who put up 11 points.  Thomas also sank 18 free throws.
