CLINTON, MS - The Mississippi College women's basketball team improved to 2-0 with a 73-65 win over Millsaps College on Friday night in A.E. Wood Coliseum.  The two teams traded leads six times in the second half as the Lady Choctaws pulled away for the victory.

The Lady Choctaws scored 43 points in the second half, aided by 55% (16-29) shooting from the floor.  MC also took advantage of second-chance points with 20 offensive rebounds in the game.

Senior Jennifer Wair led the Lady Choctaws with 23 points and nine rebounds, eight of which were on the offensive boards.  Senior Jalessa Taylor poured in 18 points and pulled down eight rebounds in the game.

Senior Randa Lee scored nine points in the game, making two of five three-pointers in the contest.  Sophomore Traci Rodgers scored eight points, making both of her three-pointers and both of her free throws.

Millsaps was led by Lovie Love and Janice Okeke with 14 points, apiece.  Shante Morton and Kristin Salmon also finished in double-figures with 13 and 12 points, respectively.

MC turned the ball over 27 times in the game, but made up for it with 21 assists on 28 made baskets.  Lee led the team with five assists in the contests.

The Lady Choctaws will return to the hardwood on Saturday when they host Pensacola Christian on Saturday.  Tip-off is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. in the Golden Dome.
