Bethel's Jenson Surpasses the 1,000 Career Point Mark at Concordia (MN)

MOORHEAD, Minn. – Senior guard Jack Jenson became the 31st member of the Bethel University men's basketball 1,000 point club with a 14 point performance in the Royals 72-53 win at Concordia Monday evening.

Now having won five of their last six, Bethel improves to 8-3 on the year and 5-1 in MIAC play. The Royals make another quick turnaround hosting Augsburg, who received votes in this week's D3hoops.com Top 25 Poll, Wednesday inside the Robertson Center at 7 p.m.

Junior forward Isaiah Carver-Bagley had himself another career-high night with 23 points on 8-of-13 shooting, where seven of those makes came from 3-point range. Jenson shot 7-of-8 from the field recording a double-double with a season-high 11 rebounds. Hudson Urbanus played all but five minutes scoring a season-high 16 points while Granger Kingland added 13 points respectively.

Concordia got off to a fast start holding a lead through the first five minutes. Kingland knocked down his only three of the game giving BU its first lead at 7-6. A layup on Bethel's next possession sparked a 21-0 run over the next five and a half minutes expanding the lead to 28-12.

Knocking down one of his three first half 3-pointers, Carver-Bagley gave the Royals its largest lead of the half at 36-17 with 5:56 remaining. The Cobbers got to the charity stripe down the stretch forcing Bethel to take a 36-26 lead into the locker room.

The Royals lead never got below 10 as Carver-Bagley and Urbanus knocked down threes on back-to-back possessions opening up the lead to 49-33. Just when Concordia thought they could break through, Carver-Bagley had an answer from them knocking down four second-half 3-pointers. It was the third time in five games that Carver-Bagley poured in at least 20 points.

BU shot 40.7 percent from long distance making the third most threes in a single game this season with 11.
