How It Happened:

• The Spartans got off to a rough start early as the Saints sprinted out to a 7-2 lead. The Spartans responded with a 14-2 run to take a 16-9 run. Marymount answered with a 12-0 run of their own to take a five-point lead.

• The Saints held the lead until Riley Dobraniecki drilled a three-pointer with 4:37 left in the first half. York held onto the lead until Marymount took their final lead of the game on a LaDarius McCord fast break layup with 1:57 left in the stanza. York closed out the first half with an 8-0 run capped by a Jared Wagner three with three seconds left on the clock. That would be a harbinger of the start of the second half for the Spartans.

• York came out the break and put a stranglehold on the game. York fashioned a 21-4 run over the first seven minutes of the half as the lead grew to 24. The run was powered by junior David Giuliani as he scored the first eight points of the half. Senior Joe Polczynski drilled two threes to keep the run going. Travis Stoll capped the run with a three pointer from the corner as the Spartan offense was rolling.

• Marymount battled back, cutting the York lead to 15 twice in the final ten minutes but each time the Spartans answered with runs to push the lead back into the 20s. The Spartans finished the game with 85 points, a mark they have reached or bettered nine times during the year.
