How It Happened:

• The Sparans got off to a great start in the game as they raced out to a 10-2 lead keyed by three pointers from Colin Rimel and David Giuliani. The Wildcats eventually trimmed the York lead to 19-18 on a Brian Hogan-Gary lay-up with 8:18 left in the first half. The teams traded buckets before the Spartans ripped off eight straight points thanks to a Jared Wagner lay-up and back-to-back threes from Joe Polczynski and Rimel as the York lead stood at 29-20.

The Wildcats scored to cut the Spartan lead to seven but then the Spartans ripped off a 14-0 spurt to close out the half as they took a 43-22 lead to the break. The Spartan run to cover the final 7:16 of the half was 22-2.

• The second half was much like Wednesday's opener at Dickinson. The Spartan lead never fell below 19 points in the stanza. The Spartans went on a 12-0 run midway through the half to push the lead to 31. The big second half bulge allowed head coach Matt Hunter to play his entire roster. The second half was highlighted by Wagner as joined the 1,000 career point club with a driving lay up with 2:48 left in the game. The Spartan bench erupted with joy as Wagner reached the career milestone.
