Baruch Loses High-Scoring Season Opener at SUNY New Paltz

Four different Bearcats scored in double-figures in a tough 90-79 road loss to SUNY New Paltz on Saturday afternoon.

The visiting Bearcats led early in the second half by four (49-45), but the hosts scored 13 straight points to jump ahead 58-49 with 12:20 remaining.

The Bearcats would on three different occasions later manage to cut the deficit to three points, which included an Emil Purisic layup with 5:52 left (75-72), but the Hawks responded with a 9-2 run in the final 4:30 for the win.

Benjamin Boateng finished with 11 points.

Jake Passaretti led the hosts from the SUNYAC with 19 points and seven steals.
