Hartford, Conn. - Junior tri-captain Nick Seretta (Greenfield, Mass.) had 16 points to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 73-62 win over the visiting Connecticut College Camels in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) men's basketball action this afternoon at Oosting Gymnasium.  Trinity improves to 15-7 overall and 4-4 in the NESCAC, while the Camels drops to 7-15 overall and 0-8 in the league.  Trinity will host NESCAC rival Bates on Friday at 7 p.m. in its next game, and Connecticut College entertains league foe Bowdoin on the same day at the same time.

Trinity started the game leading, 1-0, thanks to a technical foul on the Camels for a scorebook error, and maintained its lead for all but 32 seconds of the game.  Camel freshman guard Matt Carlin (Syracuse, N.Y.) made a three-pointer with just under 13 minutes left in the first half to give the Camels a 10-9 lead, but Bantam rookie guard Anthony Kelley (Springfield, Mass.) answered with a drive to put Trinity back ahead to stay.  The Bantams scored the last six points before the break and led, 34-26, with junior guard Joe Bell (Manchester, N.H.) leading the charge with nine points.

The Camels cut their deficit to three points at 41-38 5:25 into the second half on consecutive dunks by senior tri-captain guard David Laboissiere (Stoneham, Mass.), but a 12-0 Trinity run pushed the lead to 15.  Seretta had five points and freshman center Jared Whitt (Hanover, Mass.) contributed four during the run.  Connecticut College junior forward Patrick Lazor (West Hartford, Conn.) made a pair of free throws to reduce the Trinity lead to single digits for the last time at 60-52 with just under four minutes left to play.  The Bantams made nine of 10 free throws in the final 1:11 to keep a comfortable advantage down the stretch.

Trinity held Connecticut College to 32.8 percent shooting from the field and forced 19 turnovers to offset their own 31.9 percent shooting from the floor including four three-pointers in 29 tries.  The Camels outrebounded Trinity, 49-42, but Trinity connected on 25 of its 29 attempts from the foul line.  Kelley joined Seretta in double figures in scoring for Trinity with 10 points off the bench, while sophomore Donald Jorden (Tampa, Fla.) contributed eight points, a team-high eight rebounds, and three blocks, and sophomore Colin Donovan (Westborough, Mass.) dished six assists.  Sophomore Dan Draffan (Hamden, Conn.) led all scorers with 23 points to go with 12 boards, and two blocks for Connecticut College.  Camel sophomore guard Jack Zimmerman (Bedford, N.H.) added 11 points and five assists, and rookie center Ryan Omslaer (Jackson, N.J.) grabbed 10 rebounds.
