The Baruch College Bearcats shot 53 percent the entire game and scored 26 points off 19 Lehman turnovers to win 82-55 against Lehman College on an eventful Saturday afternoon in the ARC Arena.
The day's festivities began with the annual men's basketball alumni game that saw more than 25 different players, spanning the past 20 years, return to campus one more time to play against each other in a fun and spirited game.
The athletic department then hosted an alumni reception in the aux gym that brought back many familiar faces from across 12 different sports.
Prior to the men's basketball game, the Athletic Department then honored Ray Rankis by raising a banner in the gym in front of Ray's family, friends, former players, and the Baruch College community (see video down below). Head Men's Basketball Coach John Alesi led the ceremony and spoke about what Rankis meant to men's basketball program and athletics, as evidence by the many former-student athletes that attended.
The men's basketball team then took to the court and recorded an 82-55 win to stay undefeated in CUNYAC at 11-0 and stretch their home win streak to 11 games.
During the win, William Sixsmith scored his 1,000 career point to become the 23rd player in men's basketball team history to reach the special milestone.
The visiting Lightning scored the first four points of the game, but the Bearcats took control the rest of the way to also improve to 13-3 overall.
