CASTINE, Maine – University of Maine at Farmington men's basketball (3-21, 3-14) junior guard Ryan Camire (Acton, Maine/Sanford) scored a team-high 16 points on Wednesday night in a 98-63 North Atlantic Conference at Maine Maritime Academy (5-19, 4-13).
Camire had a strong night from the floor by knocking down 4-of-6 attempts from the floor, with a pair of three-pointers, and made all six trips to the foul line. Nick Hilton (Wilton, Maine/Mt. Blue) netted 13 points for the Beavers with a pair of rebounds and steals. Ryan Rice (Belfast, Maine/Belfast) found his stroke from long range as the junior added 12 points for UMF on 4-of-7 shooting.
Brendan Newcomb led all scorers with 23 points on 8-of-11 shooting and 6-of-9 from beyond the arc to power the Mariners' offense. Dylan Stevens had a solid outing with 19 points with five assists, four rebounds, and two steals. Tyler Thayer contributed 18 points and made 9-of-12 bids from the foul line. Nick Judge added 16 points for MMA off the bench.
UMaine-Farmington returns home on Saturday afternoon to host Husson University.
