Beavers Relinquished by Colby-Sawyer Despite Dent’s Big Offensive Night

NEW LONDON, N.H. – The University of Maine at Farmington men's basketball team (3-19, 3-12) could not hold off the high-powered offense of Colby-Sawyer College (15-6, 11-4) with a 74-41 North Atlantic Conference loss on Friday night at Coffin Field House.

Anfernee Dent (Jackson, Miss./Daegu) powered the UMF offense with a team-high 15 points. Dent shot 6-of-11 from the floor with three shots coming from long range and the freshman grabbed four rebounds. Ryan Rice (Belfast, Maine/Belfast) and Nick Hilton (Wilton, Maine/Mt. Blue) each scored seven points and shot 3-of-8 from the field. Rice recorded a pair of rebounds and a steal while Hilton matched a team-high with six rebounds and led the team with three steals.

Colby-Sawyer's Peter Donato finished the contest a rebound shy of a double-double with a game-high 20 points and nine rebounds. Donato shot 8-of-15 with six rebounds coming on the offensive glass and made 4-of-6 trips to the foul line. Milani Hicks had a solid outing for the Chargers as well with 14 points and six rebounds while Jourdain Bell added 13 points off the bench.  

UMaine-Farmington continues conference play with a trip to New England College on Saturday.
