CLARKS SUMMIT, PA. -- Gwynedd Mercy would shoot 64% in the first half to build a sizable lead at the break to go on and register an 89-55 win at Baptist Bible on Saturday.
The Griffins (11-6, 6-4 CSAC) were 20-of-31 from the floor in the first 20 minutes, including a 6-for-8 stint from behind the arc. Sophomore Arron Goodman was one of four players in double figures with a game-high 15 points. Senior Justin Knight and sophomore Cedric Elleby each had 12 while sophomore Tre Moore added 10 off the bench.
Zach Thompson had 13 for the Defenders (1-15, 1-9 CSAC). Teammate Adam Brinkley added 12 points and nine boards.
Gwynedd cleaned up on the glass, posting a 38-25 rebound edge. Senior Seth Heinicke pulled down a team-high six.
For the game, GM was over 50% shooting, going 35-of-63. Baptist Bible was shot just 38.5% (20-of-52) on the day.
The Griffins resume action on Wednesday when they play at Cairn in a CSAC contest starting at 7 p.m.
