WATERVILLE, Maine --- Nick Ciresi, with coaching experience at Union College and Fairleigh Dickinson University-Florham, was named assistant coach for the Colby College men's basketball team Friday.

Ciresi will work under fourth-year head coach Damien Strahorn and with second-year assistant Greg Rosnick.
"I am really excited about Nick joining our staff," Strahorn said. "He has a great background as both a player and coach in high academic institutions. His experience recruiting and work developing players will be great assets to our program."
Ciresi, a 2009 Union graduate, was a basketball player for the Dutchmen before becoming an assistant coach for the 2009-10 academic year. He twice earned Union's Paul Rieschick Award for a men's basketball player who best represents the team concept. Ciresi was a captain for the Dutchmen in the 2008-09 season.
Ciresi took over as an assistant coach at Union until August 2011. He switched to Fairleigh Dickinson-Florham in September 2011 until he took the Colby job. Ciresi also earned his master's degree at the school.
