DEFIANCE, Ohio –
Ryan Hicks opened the scoring on Wednesday with his first collegiate three-pointer and Defiance never looked back, as it won its 10th-straight Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference contest on the home planks with an 85-61 victory against Anderson.

The short-handed Ravens managed to hang around throughout the first 10 minutes, pulling to within a single point at the midway point before Defiance used a 23-1 rally to break the game wide open. Defiance sank nine-of-13 shots during the extended run, including three-of-four attempts from beyond the arc and rode the surge to a 44-29 lead at the break.

The onslaught continued in the second stanza, as back-to-back triples from Drew Frizell ignited another Yellow Jacket spurt. This time DC rattled off a 14-1 stretch behind four combined treys from Frizell and Travis Schomaeker to open up a 70-38 cushion and rolled to the 85-61 win.

Defiance went to the bench early and often in the lopsided affair, piling up 40 points from its reserves in the win, with all 17 players getting court action and 11 cracking the scoring column.

Logan Wolfrum led the way, pouring in 18 points and adding eight rebounds, four assists and one steal in 22 minutes of work. The 18 point-outing pushed Wolfrum past Curt Croy (2002-2006) and into fourth place on DC's all-time scoring charts with 1,634 career points.

Hicks, Schomaeker, Frizell and Bernard Edwards also reached double figures, combining for 42 points between them and Jordan Fair added six points, three helpers and four steals.

The Jackets (11-7, 7-4 HCAC) will be back in action on Saturday, when they host Transylvania (14-4, 9-2 HCAC) for a 3:00 pm tip.
