More news about: Norwich

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Cadets traveled to Rhode Island after their recent conference win over Suffolk at home, but fell short of defeating the Wildcats of Johnson & Wales (R.I.) on Saturday afternoon, 85-64.

Junior Antonio Davis continued to be a key player on the court for Norwich, advancing his double-double figures by netting 24 points and 11 rebounds. Davis was 10-of-18 in shooting for the afternoon, as his points quadrupled the contributions of any other Cadet.

Classmate and team captain Josh Cabrera put up the second highest figures in the game with six points, as did senior Jaren Jeffcoat and sophomore Brandon Kuhre. Jeffcoat made three steals and earned one assist, while Kuhre tallied an assist, two steals, and three boards.

Junior Darell Marshall played for four assists and made five points and three rebounds on the Wildcats.

The Cadets tried to stay in the game with Johnson & Wales throughout the first half, as the teams switched the lead on seven occasions. Norwich was down 37-29 at the half and although they were able to tie the game once more in the final 20 minutes of action, never held an advantage.

Norwich's next game will be at Mount Ida, as they will follow up the women's basketball action with a 7 p.m. scheduled tip-off on Wednesday.
