Wilkes-Barre, PA --- Playing in the consolation game of the PNC/Ramada Inn Classic at King's College, the Brooklyn College Men's Basketball team defeated the Bears of SUNY-Potsdam by a score of 69-57. With the win, the Bulldogs improve to 4-5 on the season, while the Bears fall to 2-6 on the year.

Tied at 12-12 through the first 12 minutes of action, the Bulldogs used an 11-0 run over a three minute span to take a 23-12 lead. Amil John helped spark the run scoring six of the 11 points. Brooklyn would maintain its lead throughout the rest of the half, heading into the locker room with a 29-22 halftime advantage.

The Bulldogs continued to build upon their lead in the second half pushing their advantage back to double figures through much of the remaining half, as Brooklyn would go on to cruise to the 69-57 win. The Bulldogs used their stingy defense to stifle the Bears offense, forcing SUNY-Potsdam into 27 turnovers through 19 steals, which led to 33 Brooklyn points.

John led all scorers with a game-high 16 points to go along with seven steals, as he would go on to earn All-Tournament Team honors. Tyshawn Russell chipped in with 14 points, while Ahmad Hemingway, Darnell Cudjoe and Keiran Halton all finished with 10 points each. Cudjoe also grabbed a team-high seven rebounds.

Curtis Pierce led SUNY-Potsdam with 14 points to go along with eight rebounds and six assists, while Rob Duquette finished the game with 12 points and nine rebounds. Brad Drysdale grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds.

The Bulldogs have now completed the 2010 portion of its schedule and will return to action on January 3rd, when the Bulldogs will be on the road to take on borough rival Saint Joseph's College (Brooklyn). Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 pm.
