Berry announced that Stephanie Dunn has resigned from her position as the Vikings' head women's basketball coach to take a high school position. Ted Johnson, who was an assistant coach for Berry's men's team, will fill the vacancy.

Berry athletic director Todd Brooks announced both moves simultaneously on March 23, 2017.
"It is with a heavy heart that I announce Coach Dunn's decision to resign her position as our head women's basketball coach in order to accept a position with Mount Paran Christian School," Brooks said. "I would like to thank her for her dedicated service over the past eight years. When it comes to a quality coach and person, Mount Paran's gain is certainly our loss."
Dunn became the Vikings' head coach when they transitioned to Division III in 2008-2009 and went 99-105 in her eight seasons at Berry. Her best season came in 2014-15 when the Vikings finished 18-9 and lost in the SAA tournament semifinal.
Dunn has accepted the head coaching position at Mount Paran Christian School in Kennesaw, Georgia. Before coming to Berry, Dunn went 170-34 with three state championships in seven seasons at St. Pius X High School in Atlanta.
Ted Johnson, who was an assistant on Jeff Rogers' coaching staff, will fill the head coaching vacancy. Before coming to Berry in 2013, Johnson worked as an assistant for four seasons at Division I East Tennessee State. He also coached at Division I programs Samford, Middle Tennessee State and University of Alabama-Birmingham and had a 20-year coaching career at the high school level.
"I want to thank Dr. Briggs, Dean Debbie Heida and Todd Brooks for the opportunity that they have presented for me. I'm tremendously honored and blessed to be in this position," Johnson said. "It has been a while since I've had an opportunity to be a head coach and I want to continue on the positive things that Coach Dunn and her staff have been able to do. I'm excited to get to work."
The Berry women finished 11-15, 5-9 in the SAA last season while the men finished 10-16, 6-8.
