A historic few days in Greensboro, N.C. for @batesswimanddive! Let’s recap in chronological order:

Wednesday:
⭐️Junior Max Cory finished national runner-up and earned All-America honors in the 50 free with a time of 19.60. He broke his own Bates record of 19.56 in the prelims.
⭐️The men’s 400-yard medley relay team of sophomore Tim Johnson, junior Marrich Somridhivej, first-year Nate Oppenheim, and Cory swam the fastest 400-yard medley relay ever by a NESCAC school with their school-record time of 3:12.09 in the championship final, good for third place. It’s the best relay finish at the NCAA Championships in Bates swimming history. Cory’s morning split of 42.12 seconds is believed to be the fastest 100-yard freestyle split in NCAA Division III history. They earned All-America honors.

Friday:
⭐️The Bates 200-yard medley relay team of Johnson, Somridhivej, Oppenheim, and Cory swam to seventh place to earn All-America honors, with a time of 1:27.83.
⭐️Somridhivej grabbed fifth place and All-America honors in the 100 breast with a blazing fast time of 53.97 seconds at night, breaking his own school record in the event, and also breaking his own school record in the 50 breast thanks to his opening split of 24.97 seconds.
⭐️Sophomore Sarah Palmer broke her own school record in the 100 breast in the morning prelim, racing to the finish in 1:02.50. Then she won the consolation final in 1:02.73 at night, taking ninth place overall and earning All-America honors.

Saturday:
⭐️Cory broke the NCAA Division III record in the 100 free and won the first national championship in Bates swimming and diving history. Cory raced to the finish in 42.88 seconds in the championship final, breaking the previous D3 record of 42.98, seconds set seven years ago.
⭐️Johnson placed 12th overall in the 200 back by taking fourth in the consolation final with a time of 1:47.60 earning him All-America honors.
⭐️Palmer broke her own program record in the 200 breast with her time of 2:16.41 in the consolation final, good for 10th place overall and All-America honors.
