Women’s History Month: Tessa Spillane Received 2016 Ernestine Bayer Award 🚣‍♀️🏅 After leading Wellesley to its first NCAA Championship, Head Crew Coach Tessa Spillane received the 2016 Ernestine Bayer Award from USRowing. The award name for Bayer, who is known as “the mother of women’s rowing”, recognizes outstanding contributions to the sport. Spillane has also directed Wellesley’s intramural rowing programs and teaches sailing and canoeing during her tenure at Wellesley. “I am truly honored to have been nominated and selected as the Ernestine Bayer Award winner by USRowing,” said Spillane at the time. “Ernestine Bayer was a doer and a champion. I met her as a 19-year-old, and I have her picture in my office, so to have my name affiliated with her is something I never could have imagined.” #earnthew #womenshistorymonth

The Comeback Kids ☄️🎾 Down 3-0 against No. 20 Babson, No. 24 Blue tennis hunkered down and staged a big comeback. Suzanne Xu’ 27, Sophie Buttorff ‘28 and Nandini Patel ‘28 won their respective matches to make it 3-3. It all came down to Rianna Mariotti ‘28 at No. 6 singles. The first year got the job done in a third set tiebreaker to give Wellesley a high profile win. #earnthew

Ending March in Style 😎 - Brian Kuscher won his 200th match with Blue tennis, taking down Springfield 7-0 on Saturday. Kuscher is the program’s all-time wins leader - Merete Ogah ‘25 set a PR in the 100m, taking 🥈with a 12.82 performance for Blue track & field on Saturday - Mattie Knowles ‘25 scored a pair of goals against MIT on Saturday - Grace Yuan ‘28 helped golf take 🥉 with an 80 at the Vassar Invitational on Saturday #earnthew
