NEW ORLEANS – The Louisiana College men's basketball team's visit to the Lakefront Arena did not start according to plan. The Wildcats' second encounter with the New Orleans Privateers didn't end well either, with LC suffering a 80-46 loss.
A week after defeating New Orleans 81-78, the Wildcats (1-2) found themselves down 44-17 at the half after being out-rebounded 18-9, committing 13 turnovers to the Privateers' six and, most telling, shooting just 28 percent from the field and 20 percent from the three-point line.
New Orleans (3-1) had no such issue, shooting 53 percent from the field and 40 percent from three-point range in the first half.
On the game, LC shot 28.3 percent from the field, 18.2 percent from the three-point range and just 50 percent from the free throw line while the Privateers shot 50.9 percent from the field, 23.5 percent from three-point range and 80 percent at the free-throw line.
Zach Kinsley of New Orleans scored 15 of his game-high 21 points in the first half while no one from LC produced more than five first-half points.
By game's end, Tyson Roach had joined Kinsley in double-figure scoring with 10.

Romanaski Williams (Bunkie, La./Bunkie HS) reached double-figures for LC, scoring 10 points to go along with five rebounds, also a team-high, an assist, a block and a steal.
Next up for the Wildcats will be their 2010-11 American Southwest Conference opener, a 3 p.m. showdown with Schreiner at home this Saturday.
