KING'S BASKETBALL TEAMS TRAVELING TO FDU-FLORHAM FOR LEAGUE TWIN BILL

WILKES-BARRE  --  The King's College women's and men's basketball teams return to the court tonight to face host FDU-Florham in a Freedom Conference doubleheader in Madison, NJ.  The women's game tip off at 6:00 p.m. while the men follow at 8:00 p.m.

King's enters the game against the three-time defending Freedom Conference champions with a 11-8 overall record and a 4-4 conference mark after a 83-59 loss to DeSales on Saturday.  FDU, meanwhile, is 14-5 and 6-2 in league play.  King's won the first meeting between the teams with a 66-57 victory at home on December 5. The Lady Monarchs enter the game in fifth place among eight teams while the Devils stand second.

In the men's game, the Monarchs are looking to get back on the winning track after suffering its fourth consecutive league loss, including three at home, after KIng's fell to DeSales 88-81 on Saturday.  The Monarchs stand at 8-11 overall and are tied for seventh-place with FDU at 2-6 in Freedom Conference games.  FDU is 4-15 overall, which includes a 81-71 loss to KIng's on December 5.

King's women are paced by senior forward Jennifer Fabian who averages 13.2 points and 7.6 rebounds per-game while making 17 three-pointers. Junior small-forward Kayla Feairheller follows with 11.2 points and 3.4 rebounds while converting 33 three-pointers. Senior forward Tara Zdancewicz has been a spark off the bench with 7.7 points and 4.3 rebounds while junior point-guard Kasey Seitz adds 5.9 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 3.1 assists while connecting on 21 three-pointers. Sophomore 6-foot-2 center Olivia Hoffman has tallied 5.9 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 71 blocked shots. King's averages 61.9 points while allowing 59.2 each game.

The FDU women are led by all-American forward Shalette Brown who averages 17.3 points and 14.4 rebounds per-game. Junior forward Alyssa McDonough follows with 15.7 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 31 three-pointers while junior center Rachel Groom chips in with 11.3 points and 6.1 boards. The Devils average 72.1 points while allowing 59.1.

For the King's men junior forward Dan Rutecki tops the squad with 12.9 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 3.2 assists. Senior center Tom Heston follows with 11.9 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 2.7 assists. Sophomore forward Chris Fazzini adds 11.1 points and 3.4 rebounds while older brother John Fazzini contributes 9.9 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 23 three-pointers.  Freshman guard Jake Barber has posted 8.1 points while junior guard Nate Oliver has tallied 8.0 points with 28 three-pointers.  King's averages 74.53 points while yielding 72.42.

The Devils are led by junior forward Donte Ali with 14.5 points and 8.9 rebounds. Freshman guard Derek Leohner follows with 11.3 points, 3.7 rebounds and 41 three-pointers while sophomore guard  Jayson Herdman chips in with 10.9 points, 3.5 assists, and 27 three-pointers.  FDU averages 70.7 points while allowing 81.9 each contest.

King's will then return home on Saturday when Manhattanville College ventures to Scandlon Gymnasium for a 1&3 p.m. doubleheader.
