This Weekend's Tournament: Ohio Northern will open its 109th season of varsity basketball in 2019-20 at the Mount Saint Joseph Tip-Off Classic ... The Nov. 8 season opener is believed to be the earliest season-opener in ONU history, four days earlier than last year's Nov. 12 opener with Defiance ... The Polar Bears will face tournament host Mount Saint Joseph on Friday night at 8 pm and will play Transylvania (Ky.) on Saturday at 3 pm ... Northern welcomes back two starters and seven lettermen under fourth-year head coach Rich Bensman seven lettermen from last year's squad that went 7-18 overall and was 3-15 in the Ohio Athletic Conference ... Seniors Austin Allemeier and Caleb Bryan, junior Colton Bachman and sophomore Ty Staten all return from ONU's primary rotation last season ... Sophomore Brandon Waugh missed the 2018-19 season with an injury and returns healthy after serving as backup point guard in 2017-18 ...
