Newport News, VA----The stage is set and the Brooklyn College women's basketball team will be taking on Regional host, Christopher Newport University (26-0) in the First Round of the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Championship Tournament on Friday, March 3. Tip-off is slated for 8:30pm ET following.  Winner will advance to the Second Round at Christopher Newport on Saturday, March 5, against the winner of Elizabethtown University (22-4) and Stevens Institute of Technology (22-5) who play in the regional's opener at 6pm on Friday.  

Making their third straight trip to the 'Tourney', the Bulldogs earned their automatic bid by defeating John Jay in the CUNYAC Championship this past Friday for their fourth conference title in five seasons.  The Bulldogs head into Friday's contest riding a 15-game winning-streak.  It will be the first meeting all-time between the two programs.

Top-ranked and undefeated, Christopher Newport enters the Tournament for the seventh consecutive season.  CNU is coming off of a dominant run through the Coast-to-Coast Conference Tournament for their fourth straight conference title.  Stellar on both ends of the court, the Captains average 87.2 ppg while allowing 51.2 ppg.
