LAS VEGAS -- Hannah Fox set the D3hoops.com Classic career scoring record, Kylin Coleman broke the tournament 3-point mark and Emmanuel and UW-River Falls made their tournament debut with a bang.

Fox, a senior guard for Amherst, became the all-time leading scorer, men or women, in the 10-year history of the D3hoops.com Classic on Sunday, as she turned in another double-digit scoring performance against Keene State.

Fox entered the day with 109 career points in five games over three appearances at the D3hoops.com Classic, needing just three to match the mark of 112 set by Thomas Bonacum, who played eight games at the Classic for Ramapo from 2015-2018.

She tied the record with a 3-pointer with 7:18 to go in the second quarter, which also tied the game at 17-17. Fox broke the record with a 3-pointer with 3:31 left in the quarter, giving the Mammoths a 28-20 lead. She finished with 18 points on the day, 127 for her career at the D3hoops.com Classic, as Amherst won 71-41.

Claremont-Mudd-Scripps senior Lindsey Cleary came up with a key steal in the final minute of a tie game and followed with a bank shot in the paint with 22.6 seconds remaining to give the Athenas a 46-44 win over St. Vincent on its first day at the D3hoops.com Classic at South Point Arena.

The Athenas held a narrow 24-22 lead after a low-scoring first half, but were able to open up a double-digit lead in the third quarter at 38-28 with a 12-3 run keyed by two 3-pointers from senior guard Kelly Keene. Leading 26-25, senior guard Gloria Bates and junior guard Maezelle Millan each made two foul shots to start the run. After the Bearcats cut it to 30-27, Keene hit a 3-pointer to double the lead with 5:52 left. Bates hit a short jumper to make the score 35-27, and after a St. Vincent foul shot, Keene hit another three to make the score 38-28 with 3:27 left in the third.

St. Vincent was able to crawl back in it in the fourth. Cleary had a three-point play with 5:28 left to make it a 43-35 CMS lead, but the Athenas had just one foul shot over a five-minute span as the Bearcats were able to pull even on a Jenna Lafko lay-up with 3:08 left.

Caitlin Barker scored a game-high 16 points off the bench and Yuleska Ramirez-Tejeda added 14 points and 11 rebounds as Emmanuel rolled past Milwaukee School of Engineering, 76-34. Emmanuel opened the game on a 25-6 run and kept on rolling. Eleven players scored for the Saints (6-4). Lexi Maruga scored a team-high eight points for the Raiders (4-6).

New Jersey City and UW-River Falls were tied 66-66 with 3:36 remaining before the Falcons hit a big 3-pointer — their third in a two-minute stretch — and used a late 7-0 run to outlast the Gothic Knights, 79-69.

Senior center Quadri Moore finished the tournament with 33 points after scoring a career-high 20 points with seven rebounds. He drew nine fouls and was 13-of-17 from the line.

With NJCU up one (64-63) after a Jaimik Moore free throw (4:35), junior guard Jack Stensgard hit another three with 4:14 left to give UWRF a 66-64 edge. Two foul shots by NJCU sophomore guard Kayton Darley with 3:36 to go forced the final tie of the night, 66-66.

But the Falcons countered on the ensuing possession. Junior forward Ross Ingersoll hit a triple from the corner to put the WIAC school up by three (69-66) and after NJCU failed to convert its next shot, Ingersoll scored inside off a feed from Stensgard with 2:49 to go. After a costly midcourt turnover by NJCU with 2:20 left, senior forward Julian Jackson hit two from the line to elevate the lead to seven (73-66) and the Falcons iced the win from the line over the final two minutes.

Jason Battle made two free throws in the closing seconds as Ramapo held on against a hard-charging St. Scholastica team and defeated the Saints, 73-71. The Saints had tied the game seconds earlier, when Nick Carlson hit a layup to tie the game at 71. But Quinn Fischer fouled Battle on the way back down the floor. Matt Latka scored a game-high 18 points on 7-for-11 shooting, while Rob McWilliams added 16 points and 10 rebounds.
