Team of the Week

The Team of the Week presented by Scoutware is D3hoops.com's weekly honor roll, in its 21st season of recognizing the top performance at each of the five positions from the previous week.

Women's

Kenzie Worcester

Worcester had a phenomenal week. In Husson's victory over Southern Maine, the junior scored 22 points, grabbed five rebounds, and dished out five assists. In the victory at Maine Maritime, Worcester tallied 36 points and corralled six rebounds. During the game against the Mariners, the guard surpassed the 1,000 point mark (the fastest in Husson University program) and set the Husson Eagles' program record for free-throws made in a single game (20).

Madison Temple
Temple led the eighth-ranked Saints to a 2-0 record last week, which extended their winning streak to 11 games. She led the team in scoring (17.5 points per game), rebounding (7.5 rebounds per game), assists (13) and steals (five). In the win over Westminster, Temple scored a game-high 22 points, while dishing out six assists and pulling down nine rebounds and recording two steals. She followed that up with 13 points, six rebounds to go with seven assists, three steals and two blocked shots against Geneva.

Jess Vormelker
Junior guard Vormelker scored 64 points and corralled 19 rebounds in a pair of PAC games last week. She scored 22 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to record her sixth double-double of the season against W&J on Wednesday. Vormelker scored 42 points, the fourth most in a single game in program history, and recorded nine rebounds against Bethany on Saturday. On the week, Vormelker scored 64 points and grabbed 19 rebounds. She also recorded six steals, three assists and three blocks. She shot 21-of-45 from the floor (.467) on the week, including 12-of-26 (.462) from 3-point range. She also made 10-of-12 shots from the charity stripe.

Nakira Examond
The Little East Conference Player of the Week, Examond averaged 24.5 points and 14 rebounds. Against Southern Maine on Saturday, she finished with 26 points and 14 boards, including 16 points in the second half, to lead the Corsairs to a 64-56 comeback win. The next day she posted 23 points and 14 rebounds as UMass Dartmouth cruised to a 76-57 non-conference victory over Regis. For the weekend, she converted on 19-of-28 shooting (68 percent), with 17 of her 28 rebounds coming on the offensive end of the floor.

Allison Prestegaard
Prestegaard recorded only the second triple-double in the UW-Platteville women's basketball program's history in the Pioneers 83-75 win over UW-Stout on Jan. 3. Prestegaard scored 27 points on 12-for-16 shooting, grabbed 13 rebounds, and blocked 10 shots. The 10 blocked shots was the second highest total in the record books, just two shy of breaking the single-game school record.

Men's

Brady Rose
Rose was named CCIW Player of the Week for second time this season. He equaled his career-high with 35 points vs. Elmhurst and scored 26 in a massive 72-53 win over No. 2 ranked Augustana. Rose shot 56% from the floor and 90% from the free throw line.

Sam Light
Light helped lead Lebanon Valley to consecutive conference wins over the top two teams in the MAC Commonwealth in No. 6 Lycoming and Albright. In an 81-71 win over the nationally-ranked and undefeated Warriors on Wednesday night, Light scored a game-high 27 points on 7-15 shooting, including 6-12 from beyond the arc. The senior also finished 7-9 from the charity stripe and added five rebounds, two steals, and an assist. In a 78-70 win at Albright on Saturday afternoon, Light scored a game-high 30 points on 10-17 shooting, including going 3-4 from 3-point territory. The team captain recorded his first double-double of the year by grabbing 10 rebounds to go along with three steals and two assists. For the week, Light averaged 28.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 1.5 assists per game, while shooting 56 percent from distance and 53 percent from the field. He was named the MAC Commonwealth Player of the Week.

Tarchee Brown
Brown became the career leader in points in the 78-year history of the men's basketball program in the first half of Saturday's 80-54 Little East Conference victory over the University of Massachusetts Boston. In a 2-0 week which included a 95-92 road verdict over Amherst College, Brown averaged 24.5 points and 11.0 rebounds with a 48.3 shooting percentage (7-of-10 from three-point range). Against Amherst, Brown reached 30 points for the second time in six games, totaling 31 to go along with six rebounds, five steals, three assists and a blocked shot. Against UMB, Brown augmented his 18-point effort with a career-high 16 rebounds, seven assists, two steals and a block.

Collin Olmscheid
The MIAC Athlete of the Week, Olmscheid averaged 29.0 points and 4.5 rebounds per-game in two MIAC wins for Augsburg, as the Auggies improved to 10-2 overall, 5-2 in MIAC play. Olmscheid scored 29 points in each game during the week, a 92-81 win over Hamline on Wednesday and an 82-66 win at St. Olaf on Saturday. He connected on 12-of-17 from the field, to go along with five rebounds and two assists, in the win over the Pipers, then hit 12-of-19 from the field with four rebounds and five assists against the Oles.

Tyheim Monroe
Monroe led Cabrini to two wins last week, averaging 22.0 points and 24.5 rebounds while shooting .531 from the field. The senior broke Cabrini's scoring record, as he paired 28 points and a career high 28 rebounds in an 89-66 win at Centenary. On Saturday, Monroe paired 16 points and 21 boards in a 98-96 win over Keystone. Monroe drained the game-winning three pointer with just nine seconds to play.
