Women's
Jordan Miller
Despite playing limited minutes in a blowout win, Miller set a
career high with 17 points at home against Southern Virginia, and
then matched that with 17 more at Frostburg State. She missed just
five shots this week, going 11-for-16 for a 68.8% effort from the
field. That total included eight made 3-pointers, as the junior
knocked down eight of her 12 attempts from long range. She added
six rebounds, two assists and a pair of steals.
Sydney Moss
Moss averaged 32.5 points and 6.0 rebounds last week, while also
dishing out nine assists and recording eight steals in leading the
Saints to a 2-0 start in the PAC. Moss scored a season-high
42 points at Waynesburg, while pulling down nine rebounds and
followed that with 23 points and eight assists against Westminster
in 22 minutes.
Jess Rheinheimer
Rheinheimer led EMU to a pair of wins over NCAA Tournament teams,
including ODAC rival Randolph-Macon. She averaged 25 points with
6.5 rebounds, four assists and two steals, shooting 54.5 percent
from the floor and from 3-point range. As part of an 81-76 win at
Randolph-Macon, she poured in a career high 27 points with six
rebounds.
Mairead Hynes
Hynes averaged 21.3 points, 17.7 rebounds and 1.3 blocks in a 3-0
week for the Camels. Hynes connected at a 51 percent clip from the
field (24-for-47) and was 16-for-22 from the line (73 percent). She
exploded with 26 points and 20 rebounds to lead the Camels past
Trinity in a 70-53 victory Thursday night before closing out the
week with 24 points and 17 boards in a 71-61 victory against St.
Joseph (Conn.).
Kelecia Harris
Harris scored the game-winning layup against Lebanon Valley at the
buzzer to cap a 2-0 week for the Lions. She averaged a
double-double on the week with 17.5 points and 15.0 rebounds per
game. Harris posted 12 points and a season-high 19 rebounds in a
win at Widener and then had 23 points and 11 rebounds in the home
win vs. Lebanon Valley.
Men's
David Fatoki
Fatoki averaged 13 points and 7.5 assists per game and did not
commit a turnover in 56 minutes. Fatoki had 11 points and six
assists in an 83-48 win over La Verne on Friday, and followed that
up with 15 points and nine assists in a 79-77 win over Trinity
(Texas). He shot 66.7 percent (10-15) from the field, including
5-of-10 from 3-point range.
Jayme Moten
Moten kept North Central unbeaten with two consecutive season-high
scoring performances. Made game-tying 3-pointer with 27 seconds
left to force OT against Pomona-Pitzer, then sank game-tying
3-pointer and assisted on the game-winning basket in overtime to
seal the win. He averaged 23.5 points in two games, while shooting
12-for-17 from beyond the arc.
Carl Joseph
Joseph averaged a team-leading 28.0 points per game and shot
better than 66 percent from the field, 50 percent from behind the
arc. He pulled down 16 rebounds, and also had five steals and two
blocked shots. In a win over 11th ranked MIT, Joseph finished with
a team-leading 23 points and shot 56.2% (9-for-16) from the field
and 5-for-7 at the line. He had eight boards and four steals. In
Saturday's conference opener he recorded a career-best 33 points,
eight rebounds and two blocked shots.
Joey Flannery
Flannery put together an impressive three-game stretch averaging
26.3 points and 5.7 rebounds while shooting 45.8 percent from the
floor and 87.5 percent (28-of-32) at the free throw line in a 3-0
week for the Beavers. He finished with 19 points, five rebounds and
three assists in a 68-48 win over Bowdoin, and then poured in 31
points, including a 13-for-14 effort from the free throw line, to
go along with seven rebounds and five steals in Saturday's 68-63
win vs. Tufts. On Sunday he scored 22 of his game-high 29 points in
the second half, and grabbed five rebounds as Babson defeated Salem
State, 73-71.
Ryan Saarela
The Tommies were in danger of an 0-2 MIAC start for just the
second time in 34 seasons as they trailed St. John's on the road in
the final 10:00, but Saarela stepped up with career highs in points
(20), rebounds (13) and blocks (four) in his first career double
double to help the Tommies post a 77-69 win. His day included nine
offensive rebounds. Saarela shot 70 percent (16-of-23) in two road
games and averaged 16.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and 2.5 blocks.
