Men's
Tyler Nicolai
Nicolai sank seven 3-pointers in a 27-point performance in Saturday's 72-61 comeback win at St. John's that let the Tommies share the MIAC championship -- the program's sixth MIAC title or shared title in a row. Nicolai played 34 minutes a game in a 3-0 week for UST and averaged 16.3 points and totaled 13 assists with only one turnover. He had 12 points, five assists, no turnovers and three steals in a win against third-place Hamline, and 10 points, seven assists, four steals and no turnovers in a victory over Concordia-Moorhead.
Andrew Jahns
Jahns helped lead Wheaton (Ill.) to a pair of conference victories last week and a berth into the CCIW tournament as the senior captain established three career-highs on the week and reached a scoring milestone. Last Wednesday he scored a career-high 26 points, with a career-best six 3-pointers in a 78-55 victory at Millikin. In Saturday'Â’s 78-49 win against Elmhurst the Thunder secured a spot in the conference tournament as Jahns scored 19 points and distributed a career-best eight assists. In the victory he reached the 1,000-point milestone in his tremendous career.
Kyle Hammond
Hammond averaged 24.5 points as the Eagles split a pair of games. Hammond scored 20 points in an 81-77 victory over Emory and Henry and then added a career-high 29 points in an 84-75 loss at Roanoke. Hammond shot 56.7 percent from the field and 57.9 percent from 3-point range.
David Golembiowski
Golembiowski helped the Wildcats to a 2-0 week with a game-high 29 points and a season-high five assists to go along with eight rebounds and five blocks in an 84-71 win against Morrisville State on Wednesday, and followed that up with game highs of 26 points, 10 rebounds and two blocks in a convincing 90-59 victory against Cazenovia on Saturday.
Scott Schnelle
Schnelle scored a career-high 36 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and had a career-high nine blocked shots in ONU's 73-70 win at Baldwin-Wallace. He also had 13 points and 8 rebounds in ONU's 71-65 win at Wilmington. Schnelle shot 16-for-24 from the floor and 17-for-23 from the line for the week.
Women's
Brittany Roberson
Roberson led Howard Payne in wins over McMurry and Hardin-Simmons last week to clinch the ASC West Division title and the right to host the ASC tournament. Along with averaging 20 points per game for the week, she dished out 16 assists and was 17-of-18 from the free-throw line. She also grabbed 10 rebounds in the two wins.
Ashley Monteiro
Monteiro finished out her final regular season on a high note when she went 10-for-19 from behind the arc in a five-point win at Southern Vermont. She set two career highs (points and three pointers made) in the game when she scored 30 points on 10 three pointers. Monteiro averaged more than 20 points per game on the week lead the Nighthawks to their first home playoff game in school history. She finished the week shooting 48 percent from behind the arc.
Kathryn Berger
Berger averaged 17.5 points and six rebounds per game to lead Washington U to a pair of wins. She scored 16 points to go along with eight rebounds and three 3-pointers as the Bears beat NYU 68-50 on Friday night. She followed that up by scoring 19 points with four rebounds and three more 3's in a 79-47 win against Brandeis on Sunday. For the week she shot 60 percent (12-of-20) from the floor and from 3-point range (6-of-10).
Erika Laete
Laete scored a school- and Northern Athletics Conference-record 50 points on Saturday for the Warriors, who defeated Dominican 96-61 in overtime to improve to 22-3 on the season. Laete averaged a double-double with 30.0 points and 10.5 rebounds per game last week. The 50 points scored were the most in an NCAA Division III women's basketball game this season. Laete also became the 13th player in school history to surpass 1,000 career points in the game.
Easter Faafiti
Faafiti led the Bison to a 3-1 record, averaging 23.8 points, 14.5 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 2.5 steals per game. She shot 54.7 percent from the field and made more than 80 percent of her free-throw attempts. She had three double-doubles last week. She set career-highs with 36 points and 25 rebounds in a win against St. Elizabeth. She netted 27 points and grabbed 13 rebounds and passed out seven assists in the big showdown game with former first-place Keuka this past Saturday.
