Team of the Week

The Team of the Week was in its fourth season in 2000-01, recognizing the top performance at each of the five positions from the previous week.

Men's

Dave Jannuzzi
Jannuzzi reached the 2,000-point milestone by scoring 35 points in an 87-74 MAC Freedom win against FDU-Madison. He hit 12 of 19 shots from the field and 10 of 11 free throws, while dishing out six assists. He also scored a game-high 26 points in an 80-77 road win at Lycoming, shooting 10-for-17 with six assists.

Clint Ferguson
Clint averaged 21 points, 7.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists to help lead the Engineers to a road sweep in Texas and a tie atop the SCAC standings. Ferguson scored 25 points with nine rebounds and seven assists and swished an off-balance, double-pump 3-pointer at the buzzer to force the first overtime in Rose-Hulman's 84-82 triple-overtime win at Trinity. He tallied 17 points, six rebounds and four assists in a 65-60 win at Southwestern. For the week, Clint shot 41 percent from the field, 85 percent from the foul line and 47 percent from 3-point range.

Tom Williams 
Williams averaged 27 points and 9.5 rebounds in a pair of games for SUNYAC-leading Cortland. The senior scored 26 points and added nine rebounds in 70-64 non-league loss at Cazenovia and had 28 points, 10 rebounds in 71-53 win against Potsdam State.

Jeremy Veenstra
Veenstra was named MIAA Player of the Week for the third time this year for his performance in a pair of Calvin victories. In an 81-67 win against Adrian, Veenstra came up with 29 points and nine rebounds. He followed with 32 points and 10 rebounds in Saturday's 86-78 win at Albion. It marked the 11th career double-double for Veenstra and the second 30-point performance of his career.

Darren Pugh
Pugh led Lebanon Valley to a 2-0 week averaging 20.5 points and 10.0 rebounds. He picked up his seventh and eighth double-double. Against Susquehanna, the center tallied 17 points, including 11-for-12 from the free-throw line, and 10 rebounds. On Saturday, Pugh tallied a career-high 24 points and posted 10 rebounds. Combined, he shot 13-for-19 (68.4 percent) from the floor and 15-of-16 (94 percent) from the line.

Women's

Marcy Tillman
Tillman led the Saints to a 3-0 week and their 15th consecutive win. She posted 55 points, averaging 18.3 points and 4.3 steals for the week as Emmanuel is off to their best start since 1985 at 20-2. Tillman surpassed the 1,000-point plateau, posting 15 points against Suffolk to reach 1,011 for her career. For the week she shot 91.7 percent from the foul line and 47 percent from 3-point range.

Rachel Horgen
Horgen led Wheaton to a 3-0 record last week, averaging 20.3 points and 7.7 rebounds a game, while shooting 61 percent (25-for-41) from the field and 50 percent (7-for-14) from 3-point range. In a 69-57 win at North Central, Horgen scored 21 points with five 3-pointers and eight rebounds. In a 52-40 win against Wisconsin Lutheran she scored 20 points on 9-for-15 shooting with a career-high 12 rebounds. In a 76-59 win over Augustana she again scored 20 points on 9-for-14 shooting from the field. In the win over the Vikings she moved into fourth place on Wheaton's all-time scoring list with 1,324 points. Her seven 3-pointers made her the Wheaton career 3-point field goal leader with 197.

Allison Reopel 
Reopel led the Eagles in a win against Brandeis with a season-high 18 points, six rebounds, two assists and a steal. Two days later, Reopel scored 12 points, grabbed four boards and added a block and a steal against No. 2 NYU who is ranked second in nation in Division III. On the week, Roepel was 13-for-18 from the floor, averaging her 15 points in only 27 minutes per game.

MaryJane Valade 
The senior shot 15-for-25 from the floor and 10-for-10 from the foul line, averaging 20 points per game for Kalamazoo.

Alicia Davis 
Despite making only one start in the three games on the week, Davis had two double-doubles and averaged 22.3 points and 11 rebounds. The freshman shot 82 percent from the floor (27-for-33) and is 72 percent on the season.
