Team of the Week

The Team of the Week was in its third season in 1999-2000, recognizing the top performance at each of the five positions from the previous week.

Women's

Michelle Chambers
Chambers scored 57 points in two games to edge teammate Jennifer Bulkeley for the SCAC scoring title at 17.8 points per game. Chambers led Sewanee to its first 20-win season shattering the school record for wins set by last year's 15-10 team. She finished her year with a career high 35-point performance on 13-for-22 shooting from the field (including 8-for-13 from 3-point range) to lead Sewanee to a 100-86 victory.

Rose Scott
In the Presidents' Athletic Conference semifinal against Grove City, Scott scored 10 of Bethany's final 15 points and assisted on another basket to help the Bison erase a three-point deficit with five minutes to play and pull out a 50-41 victory. Two nights later Scott scored 24 points, pulled down eight rebounds, handed out six assists and had four steals in Bethany's 62-52 victory against Washington & Jefferson in the PAC championship.

Qiana Young
Young scored 34 points on 12-for-14 shooting from the field and 10-for-10 from the foul line in the Highlanders' season-ending 77-72 loss at Webster. Young also collected 14 rebounds, blocked three shots and made three steals in the game. In the Highlanders' win against Greenville, Young tallied 19 points on 8-for-10 shooting from the floor, grabbed eight rebounds, made three steals, blocked three shots and handed out two assists.

Men's

Frank DeLuca
DeLuca led Widener to the Middle Atlantic Conference title, the 11th in the program's history, with a 21.3 points-per-game average during three playoff games last week. Widener trailed by as many as 11 points in the second half against Lycoming and DeLuca, who finished with 16 points, scored seven of the team's final 10 points in the last two minutes of the game. DeLuca lit up for 18 second half points against Lebanon Valley in the semifinals en route to scoring a team-high 20 points. He hit 71.4 percent from the field (10-for-14) and was 6-for-8 from the foul line.

Korey Coon
Coon played 90 minutes in two games for Illinois Wesleyan last week. In his final career game at home, he broke the Shirk Center scoring record with 42 points against North Central. He was 14-for-23 from the field and 8-for-12 from 3-point range in the victory. Coon finished his career with 27 points in a double overtime loss at Millikin. Coon finishes the season 157-for-163 (96.3 percent) from the charity stripe. His 1,782 career points are good for fifth place on the Illinois Wesleyan all-time scoring list.

Antoine Sinclair
Named MVP of the Dixie Conference tournament after scoring 21 with 10 rebounds in a semifinal win against Methodist and then having a career day in the finals with 35 points and 14 rebounds against Averett. He shot 63 percent from the field and was 13-for-16 from the charity stripe.

Chad Kratzer
Kratzer led Alvernia to the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference title this week and its first NCAA bid in three years with 21 points in the championship game and a season-high five assists. Named to the first team of the All-PAC team, Kratzer was 4-for-5 in the first half of the championship game, for 16 points, to give Alvernia a 23-point lead.

Derek Reich
Led all scorers with 34 points on 13-for-18 shooting while adding nine rebounds and four assists in a 90-77 win at Aurora. He also had the winning bucket in a 61-59 win over Washington University. He was 10-for-12 from the free throw line and had 19 boards and five assists on the week.
