UW-Eau Claire opened its new arena with a win over No. 14 Nebraska Wesleyan while No. 16 Illinois Wesleyan finished an impressive weekend at home by blasting No. 2 UW-Platteville. Loras, John Carroll and the University of New England broke through against teams that beat them twice during the regular season in Thursday night's conference tournament games. On the men's side, both ranked WIAC teams fell and JCU ousted Marietta.

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) — The UW-Eau Claire men’s basketball team was eliminated from the WIAC tournament in their last game against UW-Oshkosh. But there were still two games left to be played in the season, including Wednesday night when they traveled to UW-Platteville. The Pioneers had a dominant first half and never looked back as the Blugolds fell 60-34 at Bo Ryan Court.
EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – In a game where the UW-Eau Claire men’s basketball team never led, the UW-Oshkosh Titans were able to defeat the Blugolds 65-48 on Ken Anderson Court in Zorn Arena tonight.
RIVER FALLS, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire men’s basketball team picked up 73-65 victory over UW-River Falls at the Karges Center tonight with Adam Hjelter (So.-Hutchinson, Minn.) scoring a career-high 39 points to lead the team.
SUPERIOR, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – After leading 44-35 at halftime, the UW-Eau Claire men’s basketball team managed to score just 18 points in the second half, falling to UW-Superior 70-62 at Mertz Mortorelli Gymnasium tonight.
EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – After losing five straight games, the UW-Eau Claire men’s basketball team was able to get a victory tonight, narrowly defeating UW-La Crosse 60-57 on Ken Anderson Court in Zorn Arena.
STEVENS POINT, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – Taking on No. 1-ranked UW-Stevens Point, the UW-Eau Claire men’s basketball team kept it close early but couldn't keep the pace as the Blugolds fell 74-50 on Bennett Court tonight.
