- The Lead: MIT outscored No. 13/16 Trinity College, 15-3, during the final 4:08 of regulation to help it capture a 79-68 victory in a non-conference women's basketball game on Saturday afternoon. One of two Engineers with 20+ points and three with double digits in scoring, junior Angie Choi (Cypress, Calif.) paced the team with 24 points to go along with six rebounds and three assists.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- A jumper by junior Kamsi Nwogu (Algonquin, Ill.) brought MIT within 14-13 at the 4:24 mark, but Trinity replied with a layup which sparked a 12-5 run to close out the quarter.

- A layup eight seconds into the second stanza increased the Bantams' lead to 28-18. Just over a minute later, a driving layup by Nwogu ignited a 15-2 run that spanned six minutes. During the burst, Choi accounted for eight points, including back-to-back threes. Trinity countered with a pair of layups during the last two minutes, giving it a 34-33 edge at halftime.

- The Engineers stayed within striking distance for most of the third quarter until a string of eight unanswered points put them ahead, 47-42, with 3:51 on the clock. MIT maintained a small cushion, but a jumper by the Bantams with 1:03 left kicked off an exchange of baskets that produced four lead changes. Nwogu's layup right before time expired gave the visitors a 56-55 advantage.

- A trio of free throws in the opening 42 seconds increased the Engineers' margin. However, a trio of layups resulted in a 61-59 lead for Trinity at the 7:36 mark. The back-and-forth scoring returned as there were four lead changes, with a layup giving the hosts a 65-64 edge with 4:15 remaining. MIT tied the game seven seconds later courtesy of a free throw by junior Elise Harvey (Wayland, Mass.), and then graduate student Christina Antonakakis's (Holmdel, N.J.) three-pointer with 3:21 on the clock put the Engineers ahead for good as they pulled away for the 79-68 victory.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

- Nwogu recorded her second straight double-double and fourth of the season as she finished with 23 points and 10 rebounds. Antonakakis totaled 18 points and three assists while junior Olivia Joseph (Newtown Square, Pa.) grabbed six rebounds.
