KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — The Keuka College Women's Basketball team lost at home on Saturday evening to the University of Pittsburgh Bradford 73-54 in a non-conference game at the JMW Recreation and Athletics Center.
Mary Cotter (Hershey, Pa. / Hershey) led Keuka College (0-2) with 14 points. Caiden Crego (Lyons, N.Y. / Lyons) and Meghan Ellis (Cobleskill, N.Y. / Cobleskill-Richmondville) each added 11 for the Wolves.
University of Pittsburgh Bradford 73 at Keuka College 54
The Wolves won the opening tip and quickly went ahead with a three by Mary Cotter. Keuka College led early, but the Panthers would score 10 straight over six minutes of play to take a 13-5 lead. Pitt-Bradford led by as many as 10 in the first quarter. Keuka cut into the margin but the Panthers led 21-14 after the first.
The Wolves scored the first five points of the second quarter and held Pitt.-Bradford off the board for the opening three minutes. The two-point margin would be as close as the Wolves got it to close the half. Pitt.-Bradford found the basket and began to rewiden their lead. The Panthers built an 11-point lead over the Wolves and led by that margin 38-27 at the half.
The Panthers secured the game in the third quarter. The visitors knocked down five threes in the frame while limiting Keuka to 26.6% from the floor. Pitt.-Bradford outscored the Wolves 26-9 in the quarter to take a 64-36 lead to the final quarter.
Keuka College continued to fight in the fourth quarter. Meghan Ellis had six for the Wolves in the final ten minutes and Caiden Crego and Sophia Babcock (Oswego, N.Y. / Oswego) each scored four in the quarter. Overall in the fourth, Keuka College outscored Pitt.-Bradford 18-9, but the Panthers held onto the lead, defeating the Wolves 73-54.

Up Next for Keuka College: The Wolves will now prepare for three straight road games next week. Keuka College will face Hilbert College on Wednesday in Hamburg. The Wolves will then play in a tournament at SUNY Brockport over the weekend. Keuka College will open against the host Golden Eagles on Friday and then face Fredonia State on Saturday.
