MADISON, WI - The Benedictine University women's basketball team logged a road win at Edgewood College to open a two-game lead in the NACC standings.

THE DETAILS
• Allison Michalski opened the game with a three-pointer, but Edgewood led by as many as nine points in the opening quarter at 17-8
• Claire Gibler scored seven straight to end the quarter as Benedictine pulled within 17-15 after one
• Hanna Piro tied the game with a transition jumper early in the second quarter but the hosts grabbed the lead again and held the edge for the entire quarter
• Alex Fanning knocked down a three-pointer early in the third as part of a 7-0 run that saw Benedictine take the lead
• Edgewood cut the ead to a single point on several occasions, but Fanning scored all eight points in a run that extended the lead to 60-50 midway through the fourth
• The hosts pulled within four points with just over two minutes remaining, but Benedictine made seven free throws to nab the key victory

• Benedictine shot 57 percent in the fourth quarter to pull away, finishing the game at 39.7 percent
• Benedictine trailed 31-28 at halftime
• Fanning finished with 25 points and 14 rebounds while swatting five shots
• Fanning leads the conference in rebounding and owns 10 double-doubles on the year
• Gibler finished with 21 points
• Edgewood had lost just once all season and was a game behind Benedictine in the standings
• The two teams will not meet again in the regular season
