CONWAY, Ark. – With the shot clock expiring, Misa Fujii (Sunnyvale, Calif./Notre Dame HS) hit a deep three with 51 seconds left to put Birmingham-Southern women's basketball ahead of Southern Athletic Association rival Hendrix College Friday night on the road. The Panthers (12-3, 4-0 SAA) would hold on for the 61-59 win.
Leah Middleton (Decatur, Ga./St. Pius XH) led all scorers with a game-high 15 points. She was followed closely by Emilee Olsen (Marietta, Ga./Lassiter HS) and Fujii who earned 13 and 11 points each, respectively. Olsen also finished with a game-high five blocks, the last of which prevented a game-tying layup with one second left.
BSC stays on the highway, heading to take on Rhodes College this Sunday. Tipoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
