Birmingham-Southern Completes Comeback in SAA Opener

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.  – The Birmingham-Southern women's basketball team came from behind Wednesday to defeat Southern Athletic Association rival Millsaps College 74-65.  BSC improved to 9-2 overall with the win.

Derienne Black (Madison, Ala./Sparkman HS) and Misa Fujii (Sunnyvale, Calif./Notre Dame HS) led the Panthers.  Black dropped a game-high 26 points, her sixth 20 point performance this season.  She also finished with nine rebounds and three steals.  Fujii hit five three's and went a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line to earn 21 points.

Emilee Olsen (Marietta, Ga./Lassiter HS) continued to pound the boards, grabbing a game-high 10 rebounds to go with her nine points. 

BSC breaks for the holiday and returns to action on Monday, Dec. 30 at Piedmont College.  Tipoff is set for 3 p.m.
