SEWANEE, Tenn. - The Sewanee women's basketball team saw its two-game winning streak snapped on Tuesday night inside Juhan Gymnasium, as the Eagles of Emory University defeated the Tigers, 68-46.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-No team had more than a two-possession lead in the first 30 minutes. The Tigers made it a five-point affair, 13-8, 3:01 left in the opening quarter thanks to a three-point play by Abby Young. However, it was Emory that took a 14-13 lead after 10 minutes of play.
-Sewanee took a 26-24 lead with a little over a minute left in the second stanza on a Bella Bombassi jumper, but after two free throws by the visitors, the contest was even at 26 points apiece.
-In the first 20 minutes, the home team forced nine turnovers and recorded three thefts.
-The third period was all Emory, as they out-scored the hosts, 27-9, thanks to a 9-of-15 performance from the field, to put the contest away.
-Emory is receiving votes in both the D3hoops.Com poll and the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) poll.
SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-Ellie Treanton led the Tigers with 14 points, four assists and two steals, while Bella Bombassi posted eight boards.
-Raquel Waller scored 11 points, while Kinsley Logan dropped 10 points and recorded four steals.
EMORY KEY STATISTICS
-Blair Ripley led the Eagles with 19 points and 11 boards.
UP NEXT
Sewanee will now break for Thanksgiving, and they will return to the hardwood on Wednesday, Dec. 4 at the Mississippi University for Women.
