Presseau, Vinson, Cristiano Guide WPl by Emerson on the Road

Boston, MA --- Melanie Presseau (Manchester, NH) scored 11 points, all in the second half, and had five steals to help lead the WPI Women's Basketball team past host Emerson, 56-45 in a non-conference match-up on Saturday afternoon. 

Spencer Vinson (Los Angeles, CA) had 10 points and five rebounds for the Engineers. 

The WPI bench accounted for 27 of the 56 points, led by Lisa Cristiano (Valhalla, NY) who had nine points and a team-high nine rebounds. 

Alex Scariati (Scotch Plains, NJ) contributed eight rebounds and six assists for WPI, who improves to 3-0. 

Again the WPI defense was impressive, as the Engineers held an opponent under 50 points for the third straight game.  The Crimson and Gray held Emerson to 22.8% shooting from the floor and parlayed 19 Lion turnovers into 14 points. 

Quinn Madden (Mokena, IL) and Sam Boyle (Scotts Valley, CA) scored 14 and 13 points, respectively, for Emerson, who drops to 1-2. 

WPI will host UMass Boston in their home debut at 5:30pm. Tuesday, while Emerson will travel to participate in the Wesleyan Invitational next weekend.
