Hannah Spaulding finished with a game-high 11 points and added six rebounds in 24 minutes of play and the visiting Tommies cruised to an 81-49 victory over Hamline in MIAC women's basketball play Saturday in St. Paul.

In the process the No. 3-ranked Tommies (20-1 overall, 14-0 MIAC) posted the 10th consecutive 20-win season under Coach Ruth Sinn.

They maintained a one-game lead in the conference race over second-place Augsburg with four games to go. Those teams play on the Tommie campus Feb. 9. They also secured a first-round playoff bye and top-two seed.

The Purple have won 68 consecutive games against conference opponents and are 10-0 since the holiday break.

St. Thomas never trailed and outscored the Pipers 39-9 from 3-point range. They shot 55 percent from the field.
