Millsaps Pulls Away from Sewanee Women’s Basketball

JACKSON, Miss. - The Sewanee women's basketball team concluded a four-game road swing with a 68-55 setback to the Majors of Millsaps College Sunday afternoon inside the Hangar Dome.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-After a close opening quarter, the Majors, leading 12-10, went on a 6-0 run to start the second quarter.

-The Tigers were able to get the deficit to a one-possession game twice, but the home team, leading 20-18 with five minutes left in the half, scored the final nine points of the half to push the lead to double digits.

-Sewanee trailed as many as 20 early in the fourth quarter, but they were able to get the deficit down to as low as 10 points with 2:16 left.

SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-Abby Young posted the first double-figure game of her career with a 16-point performance on 7-of-12 shooting.

-Kinsley Logan dropped 15 points, all on 3-pointers, while Ellie Treanton corralled nine rebounds.

-Sue Kim dished out seven assists in Sunday's contest. The Knoxville, Tenn. native has tied Ashleigh Whitworth (C'05) for second all-time in program history with 342 assists. She needs 29 to match Kayla Goodwin's (C'02) 371.

MILLSAPS KEY STATISTICS
-Morgan McCrea led all scorers with 18 points, while Taelor Manning posted 17.

UP NEXT
The Tigers return to the Domain to start the second half of the Southern Athletic Association schedule. Sewanee will host Birmingham-Southern Friday evening inside Juhan Gymnasium.
