Baruch Shoots Their Way to Victory Over Medgar-Evers (71-59)

The Baruch College Bearcats won their CUNYAC home contest against the Cougars of Medgar Evers College on Saturday afternoon, 71-59.
 
After trailing 20-12 in the second quarter, the Bearcats utilized the 3-point ball to reclaim the lead.

They scored the last 17 points of the second quarter, aided by five 3-pointers, to enter the halftime up comfortably, 29-20, en route to the win.  

The attack from the perimeter was led by Frances Snyder, who had nine of her 13 total points from behind the arc, as well as Valsenia Michie who had 12 points.
 
Baruch's offensive breakout was also led by recent addition Daniela Zirpolo, who scored a career-high 19 points, and sophomore Melinda Spahiu who had another double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds.
 
The Bearcats will continue CUNYAC conference play on the road against York College on Monday, January 7th at 5:30 p.m., and at home on Wednesday, January 9th against Brooklyn College at 5:30 p.m.
