#21 DePauw Stays Unbeaten in NCAC with Win at Hiram

Hiram, Ohio - DePauw moved to 11-3 overall and 5-0 in the North Coast Athletic Conference following a 76-55 win at Hiram. The Terriers dropped to 7-7 overall and 1-4 in NCAC play.

Following a back-and-forth opening quarter, DePauw gained a 19-18 lead on Maya Howard's jumper with 23 seconds left in the frame. The Tigers then scored the first eight points of the second to extend the lead to 27-18, but Hiram eventually closed the gap to 33-30 at the intermission.

The Terriers scored first in the second half to trim the DePauw lead to 33-32. Hiram was still within two at 38-36 after Madison Branch hit a pair of free throws with 6:55 left in the third, but the Tigers scored the next seven points and closed the period on an 18-3 run to extend the lead to 56-39 after three quarters. DePauw shot 56.3 percent from the floor for the quarter to Hiram's 15.4 percent.

Hiram was as close as 14 in the final quarter with DePauw's lead reaching as many as 21 points in the final minute.

Howard led all scorers with 26 points, while Sydney Kopp followed with 21. Tashauna Wright paced Hiram with 21 points.

DePauw held a 41-28 edge on the boards with Hayley Cange hauling down eight for the Tigers and Erica Johnson finishing with five for the Terriers.

The Tigers shot 48.3 percent from the floor to Hiram's 37.9 percent and committed just nine turnovers to Hiram's 10.

DePauw travels to Wooster on Saturday, January 5, for a 1 p.m. NCAC contest.
