SVC women's basketball team earns PAC win

The Bearcat women's basketball team earned a home victory in Presidents' Athletic Conference play, defeating Thiel College by a score of 89-65.

Thiel scored the game's first two points, but it would prove to be their only lead of the night.
 
Maria Morgan got SVC on the board with a conventional three-point play at the 9:13 mark.  Jenna Lafkofollowed with a steal, then Madison Kollar hit a three.  After a pair of free throws, Morgan hit a three to make the score 11-2.  Later a jumper by Kollar made the score 17-2, completing a 17-point run by the Bearcats.
 
The team eventually took a 27-8 lead into the second quarter, with Kollar tallying 11 points in the opening 10 minutes.
 
Midway through the second quarter, back-to-back threes by Kollar gave SVC a 21-point lead, 39-18.
 
Another Morgan three stretched the lead to 44-21.  Layups by Lauren Gamble and Emily Worcester ended the scoring for the half, as SVC took a 50-26 lead into the break.
 
Taylor Boring added five points in the third quarter, and Kollar kept up her hot shooting, as SVC ended 30 minutes of play with a 76-41 lead.  
 
Christina Davis three early in the fourth gave SVC an 82-43 lead, and the team went on to an 89-65 victory to improve to 3-0 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference.  
 
Kollar led SVC with 23 points and 7 rebounds.  She went 10-10 at the free throw line.  Morgan added 14 points, while Carlee Kilgus scored 11.  For the Tomcats (0-2 PAC, 2-5 overall), Jess Vormelker had a game-high 24 points, while Destiny Johnson had a double-double, with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
 
Saint Vincent is now 6-2 overall, and will return to action on December 18, with a non-conference game at Juniata.
