(DANVILLE, Ky.) – The fifth-ranked Thomas More University women's basketball team defeated Covenant College, 89-47, tonight (Friday, November 16, 2018) on the first day of the Lee's Famous Chicken/Hampton Inn Classic hosted by Centre College in Danville, Kentucky.
NOTEABLES:
- The Saints improve to 2-0.
- The Scots fall to 0-1.
- Thomas More out-scored Covenant 46-14 in the paint.
- Senior guard Madison Temple (Cincinnati, Ohio/Anderson) led all scorers with 20 points, while pulling down six rebounds, seven assists and four assists.
- Sophomore guard Briana McNutt (Maysville, Ky./Mason) finished with 12 points.
- Junior guard Kaela Saner (Florence, Ky./Boone County) had 11 points.
- Senior forward Shelby Rupp (Milan, Ind./Batesville) had 10 points and two blocks.
- Senior guard Kelly Clapper (Newark, Ohio/Newark Catholic) just missed double figures with nine points and had four steals and three assists.
- Sophomore guard Hayden White (Milford, Ohio/Milford) finished with five rebounds, five points and two assists.
