Ramlochan, Tigers Go 1-1 in Vegas

LOS ANGELES — The Occidental women's basketball team split its two-game road trip at the D3hoops.com Classic in Las Vegas this weekend, beating Hamline 64-55 and falling to Wis.-Stout 60-54.

Alyssa Ramlochan led the Tigers with 16 points, eight rebounds, three assists and three steals against Hamline. Tala Ismail added 12 points and four rebounds, Triana Anderson had 10 points, six rebounds and five assists, and Emily Leonard had nine points and seven rebounds.

The Tigers played good defense in the second half, holding off a hot-shooting Hamline squad.

Anderson had 12 points, six rebounds and three assists against Wis.-Stout. She was named to the All-Tournament team. Kendahl Wallis-Lang was also big for Oxy, scoring 10 points off of the bench. Ramlochan filled up the stat sheet with six points, six rebounds, three assists and four steals, and Ismail had eight points and six rebounds despite battling through sickness. Leonard chipped in nine points and eight boards. 

Season Impact: Oxy moves to 6-4 on the season.

Next Game: The Tigers are back in action on Jan. 1, playing La Verne at Life Pacific College.
