Tommie women win fifth in row

Junior Lucia Renikoff scored 17 points and the host Tommies sank 14 treys in Saturday's 79-46 win over St. Catherine at Schoenecker Arena.

The No. 11-ranked Tommies (6-1 overall, 3-0 MIAC) ran their season win streak to five, their home victory streak to 18, and their MIAC win streak to 37 as they shot 52 percent to SCU's 28 percent.

UST scored 50 first-half points after sinking 8-of-15 from behind the arc in the first two quarters. The Toms built the lead to 41 midway through the final quarter.

Seven different UST players made a 3-pointer, led by Lauren Fischer at 4-of-4. The 14 were the most in program hostory at home and tied for second most. The 2015-16 St. Thomas team sank 16 treys ina  win at Carleton.

Fischer had 12 points and six rebounds, and Hannah Spaulding contributed 10 points and seven boards. Kaylie Brazil added 12 points.

Danica Cambrice posted 13 points and seven rebounds for the Wildcats (3-5, 0-3).

The Tommies play Wednesday at unbeaten Gustavus in battle of top 15-ranked teams.
