NAPERVILLE, IL - The Benedictine University women's basketball team won a third straight game, pushing past North Central College on the road.

• Benedictine led for virtually the entire contest
• Venita Parsons hit three-pointers on the first two possessions of the game to hand Benedictine a 6-0 lead
• A layup from Madisyn Fischer at the 6:00 mark of the first quarter pushed the lead to double figures at 15-5
• North Central countered with eight straight points and trailed 19-17 after one
• A three-pointer to open the second quarter gave the hosts their only lead at 20-19
• Benedictine put five straight on the board to move in front once more
• Georgia Alexakos made a layup to open a 6-0 run that gave Benedictine a 32-25 lead
• The edge reached nine on a jumper from Fischer, but the hosts battled to within 38-34 at the half
• North Central was able to tie the game at 42 three minutes into the second before Parsons and Fischer combined for all the scoring in an 11-2 run that put Benedictine in the driver's seat
• Ahead by nine points following three quarters, a 9-0 run stretched the lead to 16 with five minutes left and North Central pulled no closer than 12 the rest of the way
• The win marked the first over North Central since 2011, a span of five meetings
• Benedictine shot 42 percent for the game and limited North Central to just 35.2 percent
• Benedictine also held a 50-42 edge on the glass and overcame 17 turnovers
• Parsons tallied 17 points and tacked on four assists
• Fischer netted a season high 16 to go with five rebounds and six assists
• Andrea Fuoss also hit double figures with 12
• Alexakos grabbed 10 boards and added nine points with five assists as Benedictine tabulated 20 on 30 field goals
Benedictine (3-1) returns to conference play on Saturday by hosting Aurora
