On December 30th the Blackburn College Women's basketball team took on the University of Dallas in Carlinville, IL.
The Beavers kept up the Crusaders and were only down 6 at halftime. But a quick late third quarter run by the crusaders put the Beavers behind by 16 at the end of the third. The Beavers would never cut back into the lead as they lost by a final score of 76-56.
Leading the Beavers in scoring was Elisabeth Johnston who scored 14 points. Leading the Beavers in rebounding was Aleisha Stiltner, Raven Holmes, and Angela Andrews who all had 5 apiece. Aleisha Stiltner and Brooke Meyer led the team in assists with 2 each. Leading the team in steals was Stiltner with 5. The Beavers shot 40% from the field as a team and 55% from the free throw line as a team.
Leading the Crusaders was Michelle DeCoud who poured in 22 points. Also, scoring in the twenties was Seana Stoia with 21 points. Leading the Crusaders in rebounds was DeCoud with 11. Sammi Tso and Celsi Caraway led the team in assists with 4 assists each. Leading the team in steals was DeCoud with 3. The Crusaders shot 48.2% from the field and 75% from the chairty stripe.
Blackburn's next game is on Saturday, December 31st against University of Illinois-Springfield in Springfield, IL.
