ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. – Senior Anais Weatherly paced four Quakers in double-figure scoring with 18 points in Guilford College's 79-43 nonconference women's basketball win at North Carolina Wesleyan College Tuesday night.

Weatherly made eight-of-10 shots from the floor, including one-of-two three-pointers, and helped the Quakers move to 6-0 on the season. Her game-high five steals contributed to the Battling Bishops' (4-2) 26 turnovers, which led to 29 Quakers' points. Guilford turned the ball over 16 times, but the hosts managed only eight points from the Quakers' miscues.

Guilford senior Heaven Walters collected 16 points and a team-high six rebounds and junior Lauren Ramsey added 13 points, plus three steals. Kate Clark netted 10 points off the bench, thanks in part to two three-pointers. While Essence Abraham managed just two points on an off shooting night, she made her presence felt with a game-high six assists and four steals.

Guilford's defense held the Bishops to 23.5 percent field-goal shooting and enjoyed a 40-14 scoring advantage in the paint. Alexis Fitzgerald led North Carolina Wesleyan with 12 points. Nadia Holley had eight points and eight rebounds off the bench, but also had eight turnovers.
