DePauw Rolls to Sixth Win

Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw trailed by as many as six in the opening quarter, but a 31-5 run that spanned the first, second and third quarters put the game away as the Tigers topped visiting Anderson, 68-41. The Tigers improved to 6-2, while the Ravens dropped to 3-5.

The Ravens hit four three-pointers in the opening 5:38 to take a 14-8 and they still led 15-12 before the Tigers closed the quarter with six straight on buckets by Morgan SkordosMelinda Franke and Jenna Stoner to lead 18-15.

DePauw held a 21-18 lead early in the second before finishing the half with an 18-2 stretch as six different Tigers scored. 

Taylor Howard opened the third period with a pair of buckets to extend the hosts lead to 43-20. The Ravens got no closer than 20 the rest of the way, while the Tigers led by as many as 32.

Skordos scored a career-high 12, while Taylor Howard and Emily Budde each added nine. Franke hauled down a career-best 10 rebounds. 

Cailey Cotter paced Anderson with 10 points, while Jireh Hart grabbed four boards. 

The Tigers shot 40 percent from the floor, while the Ravens connected on just 27.5 percent. DePauw outscored Anderson from the line, 19-4, and held a 53-29 edge on the boards. The Tigers committed just 12 turnovers to Anderson. DePauw held a 44-8 advantage in the paint and 25-8 in points off of turnovers.

DePauw hosts Oberlin on Saturday, December 12, at 3 p.m. in the North Coast Athletic Conference home opener.
